Meet our new Champion!

Joseph of Shreveport, LA is an energetic 6-year-old who lights up every room he enters. He was born prematurely weighing just 1 pound, 9 ounces and spent his first four months in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at CHRISTUS Shreveport-Bossier Health System. Joseph’s many medical challenges included a brain bleed and hydrocephalus, a buildup of fluid in the brain, requiring two brain surgeries and one heart surgery.

Today Joseph is thriving with the help of weekly outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy. Thanks to donations to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, Joseph and his medical team had access to specialized equipment in the NICU and donations continue to provide state-of-the-art equipment to help him reach his therapy goals. When he isn’t busy with school, Joseph loves to talk about trains! His big personality and contagious smile make people want to love life like he does.

Donations like yours fund specialized NICU equipment to ensure babies with life-threatening prematurity get the chance to become vivacious and vibrant kindergarteners like Joseph!
